The Historic Marquette Building Apartments
All available retail/office space is leased.
The Marquette Building Apartments were designed in 1924, by Hewitt & Emerson Architects. This is the same group that designed the Commerce Bank Building and the Pere Marquette Hotel. The building was originally constructed as 34 studio apartments, around 450 square feet each. They are completely restored to meet the needs of today. 18 units were retained as originally designed Studios. The balance of the units were combined to form 8 one bedroom, one bath units and 2 two bedroom, two bath units. Rent includes hot water, cold water, sewer and free parking.
Most units have original hardwood floors, which have been refinished to a beautiful, natural oak shine. The subway tile backsplashes, in the kitchens, give a retro look when combined with the granite counter tops and white shaker cabinets, along with black appliances. All units have granite topped islands separating the kitchen from the living area. Each has a walk-in closet or office and a small but attractive bathroom, with ceramic surround shower/tub and ceramic floors. Heating and cooling costs should be low thanks to European style heat and cooling pump units, in each unit. Technology has replaced the old 1924 phone lines with the latest in internet and data transmission cabling throughout the building.
The building entrance is accessed by card access proximity locks. Visitors can be screened using your smartphone to view, speak and allow or deny entrance through the main building door. Cameras record activity on all exterior sides of the building. Located within in short walking distance to the University of Illinois College of Medicine & Unity Point Methodist Medical Center. This makes a great location for medical students.
Sorry, while we are pet lovers ourselves, we don’t allow pets at these apartments.
